Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Outpatient Therapist

I have more than 16 years of experience as a therapist and I have successfully helped individuals who were struggling with difficult life transitions, medical conditions, parenting and relationship issues, grief and loss; as well as individuals dealing with the added challenge of living with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and past traumatic events. I work with adults and couples.

Life is difficult. Relationships are difficult. Everyone experiences moments when they feel completely overwhelmed and unsure of how to get their life back on track. Having an anxiety or mood disorder can make this process feel even more overwhelming. No matter what challenges you may be facing, therapy can help. My goal as your therapist is to gain an understanding of your unique situation and challenges. I will work with you (or you and your partner) to develop a personalized approach that will help you achieve your individual goals and feel in control of your life again.

My philosophy is that clients are the experts on their own lives, and sometimes we all need guidance and support to achieve what we want to achieve. I base my approach on each individual client, but primarily use a person-centered approach, along with teaching many coping skills from the DBT modality.

I enjoy working with clients of all ages, from young children to adults. I have also worked with a variety of different diagnoses and can help clients with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief/loss, self esteem, and relationship issues.

When working with children and adolescents, I often incorporate games and play into therapy to engage and allow them to express themselves in developmentally appropriate ways. I enjoy helping all my clients gain insight and promote growth so they can live happy and healthy lives.

You don’t have to struggle alone. The bravest thing anyone can do is to ask for help. My goal in counseling is to create an environment where you feel heard and understood as we address issues you feel are important.

For over twenty years I have worked with individuals in the business sector to over- come obstacles in their careers. Through self-awareness and understanding thought patterns, I have been able to guide individuals to realign behaviors in order to obtain the careers they desired.

My educational background is in child development, self-esteem, and parenting techniques. In today’s society, children face different social pressures and parents need encouragement and guidance to be better equipped to support their child’s development. Our young adults are feeling alone and less connected. Together, I will work with your child on strategies that allow them to address the root causes of their difficulties and build meaningful social connections.

I am a passionate counselor dedicated to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for my clients. My journey began as a high school English teacher, where I discovered my deep-rooted desire to help others navigate their academic and personal challenges. Through those formative years in the classroom, I cultivated my skills in empathy, kindness, and care—qualities that have become the cornerstone of my counseling practice.

Transitioning from teaching to counseling was a natural progression for me. I realized that while I loved sharing my passion for literature and language, my true calling lay in providing emotional support and guidance to people as they navigate the complexities and challenges in life. I find immense fulfillment in hearing peoples’ stories, understanding their struggles, guiding them on their path toward healing and helping them to uncover their potential.

As a counselor, I strive to create a safe space where my clients feel heard and understood. I firmly believe that every individual deserves to be treated with compassion and respect, and I make it my mission to foster a trusting relationship with each person who walks through my door. My approach is clinical yet warm; I rely on evidence-based practices to guide my interventions while always keeping the human element at the forefront. I understand that each individual is unique, with their own set of experiences and challenges, and I take the time to tailor my support to meet their individual needs.

Throughout my career, I have seen the profound impact that a supportive counselor can have on a person's life. It brings me immense joy to witness their growth and resilience as they work through challenges. Whether it's helping someone cope with anxiety, navigate friendships, or explore their identity, I find meaning in every session. My counseling technique is eclectic and very individualized to each individual’s treatment goals. CBT, DBT and Solution-Focused Therapy are some of the approaches I use in sessions, but I always focus on what is most beneficial to my clients. I am continually inspired by their courage to confront their fears and pursue their goals, and I feel privileged to be a part of their journey.

Ultimately, my passion for helping others drives everything I do. I believe in the power of connection. I strive to not only support my clients but also to empower them to build healthy relationships and develop the resilience they need to thrive. I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in their lives, and I look forward to continuing this fulfilling work for years to come.

Change is hard. When you’re in the middle of a life transition, it’s easy to feel lost. Heading off to college or a new career, going through a divorce or a newly “empty nest”, questioning your religious faith or your sexuality are just some of the things that can make you feel like you’re not sure who you are anymore. Maybe you want to make a change, but can’t figure out which direction you want to go. We all need guidance at times.

As a mother of a trans child, issues relating to gender identity and expression are close to my heart. I offer a safe, affirming, and welcoming space in a world that too often is not. Everyone's story is unique.  I want to hear your story and help you get to know yourself better so that you can find your own unique way of being in this world.
